BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal Target Undergoes and Passes Medical. Deal to be Announced Soon

Arsenal have gone one more step closer to getting their defensive midfield target signed up when the January transfer window opens officially.

The last few days have seen the media report the Gunners' interest in FC Basel's Mohamed Elneny who they want to occupy the void left by some injured players and according to those claims, £7million is the fee Arsene Wenger agreed to pay for the Egyptian international.

It was earlier confirmed by some top sources that the 23-year-old Elneny has already agreed personal terms ahead of his switch to the Emirates and in another development, he has undertaken a medical which he passed today.

He is expected to sign a four-year contract which is worth £60 000-a-week tomorrow. He will be unveiled as the first Arsenal winter signing anytime from January 1.

There was this issue of him needing a work permit but that shouldn't be an issue since he is a club and country regular. In short, we got to know few minutes ago that the work permit obstacle has already been scaled and what remains now is a few paperwork which should commence by tomorrow.

With the number shortage in the Arsenal squad as a result of numerous injuries to first team players, we expect the club to sign some other stars before the window shuts.
