Speculations over the possibility of these duo joining Arsenal in the January transfer window have been flying around in the media since mid-January and with the latest development, it seems the move will go through afterall.

A picture showing two Nigerian starlets Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze with Arsene Wenger, Ivan Gazidis and Nwankwo Kanu has surfaced, thereby raising suggestions that they are close to signing for the club.

The Gunners have already beat off competition from a number of European clubs to become sole favourites to capture the Nigerian Under-17 stars who both played vital roles when the U17 World Cup was on in Chile last year. Nigeria ended up champions of the tournament.

According to Goal, Chukwueze and Nwakali will start up with the Arsenal youth side before signing professional contracts by the time they become eighteen years of age. (when they become 18 abi? Ok o, so they are not yet 18. Naija I dey hail o.)
