Wenger on Whether Wilshere Will be Sold

Arsene Wenger has given a reply to calls demanding the sale of Jack Wilshere who has been out of action for a lengthy period.

The English midfielder has not managed to make even an appearance for the Gunners this season after suffering various setback since his most recent injury in June.

This and a lot of many other fitness issues which have plagued the career of the 23-year-old has resulted to calls for his sale from a faction of the club’s fans.

Arsene Wenger as we have always known him is one manager who keeps having faith in his players and Jack’s case is not any different. The Frenchman is willing to keep him at Arsenal despite his many injury woes. He still believes the midfielder has better days ahead of him and for that reason does not want to sell him.

“I want Jack to stay here. He is a special case because he’s a special talent and he comes out of the club.” the Arsenal boss said

“I’m optimistic. The games he played in recent years is not many. I hope at some stage it will stop because he’s young.” he added.

Wilshere has not been able to survive a full season without injuries since breaking into the first team in 2010. Nevertheless, he has impressed whenever had been available to play. Few of the games he played when he resumed towards the end of last season saw him score a goal which was later voted the BBC Goal of the Season.
