Mesut Ozil has revealed that he is not after personal records but is more interested in team success. He stated this while making it clear that he does not have the intention of breaking an assist record previously set by legendary Thierry Henry.
The German international's nice form for the Gunners has resulted to his 18 assists in 28 Premier League games so far this season but the former Real Madrid star's priority is not to break the 20-assists-in-a-season record owned by Henry
In an interview with Arsenal Magazine the 27-year old said that he only likes individual records that result to silverware.
“I don’t play the game to smash records.
“I know what I can do and I know that I’m one of the best assist makers in the world, but it’s all about titles for me.
“If I have a great season but we don’t win anything, what does it bring me?”
Nice talk from the assist king. Of what use is the Golden Boot if the team of the player who wins it does not end up as champions in the competition?
