Wenger Reveals He is Hurt By Statement of This Arsenal Star

Arsene Wenger has taken a swipe at all those who have hauled criticism at his side after last weekend's 2-0 win over Everton.

Arsenal came back to winning ways after a series of poor performances which saw them crash out of the FA Cup, Champions League and also lag far behind league leaders and this made a lot of ex-players, fans and pundits show their disgust.

While some called for the departure of Wenger, others demanded for a change in his transfer policy while a few others believed the current Arsenal squad lack leaders.

The latest of these criticisms came from an ex-Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Petit and the 66-year-old French manager isn't happy with such as he thinks his boys deserve some kudos.

I was pleased with how well they responded (against Everton).’ said Wenger.

‘It was a very significant win for us and a mental test. I like this group, I like the mental attitude, it has been questioned and that hurts me.

‘When you work with them every day, you see how much effort they put in.’

Arsenal will continue their fight in the Premier League after the international break when they play Watford, the same team that knocked them out of the FA Cup about two weeks back.

They will be hoping to narrow the eleven-point gap currently existing between them and Leicester City. Arsenal have eight more games to play (an outstanding match inclusive).
