Arsenal have circulated a piece of information which states that their new signing, Granit Xhaka has picked a new jersey number.

The Swiss international who joined the Gunners from Borussia Monchengladbach last month initially wanted the number 34 shirt but since it was already being occupied by Francis Coquelin, he went for the number 16 shirt instead, and few days after that, he changed his mind and opted for number 29.

As a result of this change, Arsenal have promised to make a free update to the kits of fans who already purchased Xhaka's jersey with the number 16 on it.

According to the star who cost the North-London side about £35million, he settled for number 29 because it is a reverse of his birth year - 1992.

Xhaka will be available to train with the rest of his teammates at the end of the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
