Arsenal have received a massive boost if what is being circulated by the Daily Express is anything to go by. The news outfit has revealed that

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has turned down an opportunity to extend his stay at Borussia Dortmund by rejecting a new contract offer

The attacking midfielder has in recent weeks been heavily tipped as a major target for Arsene Wenger and ever since then, there have been a number of reliable sources who have said one thing or the other which indicate that the Gunners are truly interested in him.

At the moment, it all looks as if the Armenia international is bent on making a transfer to the Premier League with the Emirates Stadium being his most likely destination.

Statistics show that Mkhitaryan was one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season, a factor which has led to attractions from top teams in Europe.

Arsenal are prepared to pay as much as £25 million. for the 27-year-old and if successful with their quest, the Gunners would be few steps from being strong title contenders having already completed and announced the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
