News regarding Gonzalo Higuain's possible transfer to Arsenal has taken a new twist as the agent of the player who was claimed to be an option for a swap deal has debunked such claims.

Last week, there were reports claiming that Arsenal were preparing to give out Olivier Giroud plus cash to Napoli in order to get Higuain but with the most recent revelation, it seems they were all false afterall.

According to Michael Manuello who is the agent of Olivier Giroud, it is not true that the French striker is on his way out of the North-London club. However, he admitted that the club are in need of a top striker who would create competition for his client.

Speaking in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, he said: “Everything I’ve read about Giroud is not true. I’ve only ever said that if Arsenal want to sell him, then we will see.”

Anyone who believes Arsenal will allow Giroud leave at this time should have a rethink. Yes, he has not offered what the likes of Aguero would have given us, but that does not erase the fact that he is not as poor as some qualify him to be. Sending him out would not help matters, instead, a new recruitment in that same position would make him sit up and maybe by then we will get more from him.
