Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has once again assured the fans that there would be new arrivals at the club soon.

There has been a lot of criticism aimed at the Frenchman for failing to complete major transfers and in response to them, he has stated that the club is seriously working on that.

He however claimed that they would only sign needed quality players and not just buy all because other clubs are spending big.

Speaking to the press after Arsenal's goalless draw with Leicester City on Saturday, Wenger said: “Yes we are close. But I would say spending in itself is not a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality. I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions.”

Wenger also indirectly took a swipe at the journalists. According to him, they fail to notice and commend the exploits done by players like Holding but only focus on transfers.

He said: “Nobody speaks about the performance of Rob Holding today – he is English, he is 20 years old, you should be happy. But I am sorry he didn’t cost £55m so it cannot be good”.

Wenger continued: “That is, for me, what is most disappointing – we don’t speak about the performances of the players anymore. We just speak about anything else but football and I believe it is not right.”
