Henry was given an opportunity to work with the Arsenal youth team but unfortunately, he left a few weeks after accepting the job offer from Arsenal. A lot of people had criticised Arsene Wenger for the exit of the Frenchman as they believed that he was forced out of the club by the Arsenal boss.

Wenger has come out to silence his critics by fully disclosing what really transpired between both parties. He stated that it was Henry's idea to leave the club as he wasn't comfortable with the situation of things during his brief stay with the Arsenal youth team.

‘There was a lot of debate about Thierry Henry not staying here. I think Thierry Henry has done an exceptional job here but it is an uncomfortable position for him,’ he said.

‘He agreed that it was not easy for him to deal with talking about Arsenal during the weekend and then coming in.

‘You want him to be free from his statements and it’s always difficult for him to be really objective sometimes, and even a bit harsh, and then come in and face the players. It will be easier for him.’

Thierry Henry currently works with Roberto Martinez as Belgium’s assistant manager and he is still a football pundit as well.
