Alexis Sanchez is happy playing as a central striker for Arsenal even though he had to spend some time studying how to fit well into that position.

The Chilean international has since the beginning of the present campaign shown his versatility by giving the Gunners the needed goals while acting as a striker. In fact Arsene Wenger now prefers him to Olivier Giroud who ought to fit naturally into that role.

Sanchez has stated that he had no issues switching positions when he was asked to but said that he had to go to the Internet to watch videos in order to make him a better striker.

“[The manager] is the one who decides, he’s the one who changes things around and decides where we play,” he told Arsenal Player.

“He asked me to play there so I said fine – I looked up some videos on the Internet to see how I needed to adjust my movement and I’ve been adapting since then.”

“I like it as a centre forward because I can get involved in the play more,” he added.

“I have the chance to drop deep a little bit more and that means I can link up with my team-mates more.”

It is obvious that Sanchez really did a thorough research. This is evident in the fact that he is Arsenal's joint top scorer so far this season.
