Arsene Wenger has stated that Jack Wilshere will be offered an improved contract at Arsenal in the coming months.

Speaking at his press conference today, the Frenchman expressed satisfaction towards the progress of the English international who is currently on a season-long loan with Bournemouth.

Asked if there are plans to keep the injury-prone midfielder at the club, Wenger replied: ‘Of course,’

‘Ideally it will be addressed before next summer. We have to plan around the new year.

‘I am happy that he develops well. In the end it was a good decision to go to Bournemouth because he gets regular football. People who watch him say he is getting stronger every week.

‘The regular football has helped him develop a lot and come back to the level he needs to be.’

Wenger shocked all when he revealed that he has not spoken to Jack ever since he left the club at the start of the season but his reason sounds justified after-all.

On when last he communicated with Wilshere, he responded: "Not since he’s left. I leave him to deal with his manager. Every week I ask, ‘How did he play?’,

"I read the reports and when I can see highlights or watch him on television, I will watch him. I’m happy that he hasn’t had any injuries since he left us."
