Nigerian football legend and uncle to Alex Iwobi, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has disclosed that the rainbow flick skill performed by Iwobi in Nigeria's game against Algeria was not taught to his nephew by him.

The former Bolton star was in attendance when the Nigerian national side host Algeria in Uyo on Saturday and it was during this World Cup qualifier match that Iwobi did the rainbow flick.

Shouts of Okocha rent the air immediately as they know him to have performed that skill on many occasions while he was still playing. To them, he must have taught that to Iwobi.

Responding to this when quizzed by journalist; the former Bolton Wanderers man said that Iwobi learnt that all by himself.

“I didn’t teach him. Maybe he saw the one I did, but I’m sure he must have seen other players do it too. The boy is special and he is still developing. We are lucky to have him.”
