The aftermath of Arsenal's Champions League victory over Ludogorets on Tuesday night has seen many praises heaped towards Mesut Ozil. There is however one of his teammates who feels he does not deem it necessary to do such.
Shkodran Mustafi was in the team that plotted a comeback last night and despite recognising the fact that his German counterpart's goal was a superb one, he jokingly stated that he does not want to commend him. What was the reason he gave.
According to the Arsenal defender, doing so will only make Ozil feel he has arrived, thereby building up his ego.
Speaking about his fellow German, Mustafi said: “I don’t want to say too much because it will get in his head and he’s going to think he’s the best again!
“No, we know his qualities. He is incredible. He is calm in front of goal, I think I would have just taken the first touch and shot from 20 yards away!
“But he stays cool, he has the calmness and finishes off brilliantly.”
