In a chat with the Guardian, Alex Iwobi disclosed his experience on the African continent when he came home to represent during an international break.

The Nigerian-born midfielder spent a greater part of his life in England but chose to play for his motherland when the time came for him to appear on the international scene.

Being that he didn't stay so long in Nigeria before leaving, he found some things which made him marvel when he came home to play.

The attitude of the fans and the footballing environment left him pondering on some questions which he couldn't find answers to.

“At my debut we played in a stadium that holds 30,000 and there was 60,000", Iwobi said. "I don’t understand how.

"People were standing on the floodlights, on the scoreboard. I was thinking, ‘What? This isn’t even safe!’ But people there will do anything to watch the match.

"Sometimes in a Premier League game the fans are a bit quiet but in Nigeria you just hear trumpets, everything. The atmosphere is so different compared to England.”

Iwobi has scored two goals in Arsenal's last two games, one in the Champions League against Basel and another in the Premier League when the Gunners hosted Stoke City on Saturday.
