Have you ever wondered what link Gunnersaurus has got with Arsenal? How come did we end up having a dinosaur.

In case you do not know, Gunnersaurus is the Arsenal mascot who you get to see in our home games. Yes, that naughty dinosaur of a guy. Lol.

Okay! So how did Arsenal end up with that green dino as mascot. Why didn't they just adopt a soldier boy instead? Well, he won a competition so many years ago.

In the 1993/94 season, Arsenal organised a contest in which they asked participants (Junior Gunners) to craft out a new mascot.

Assessment was made at the end and an 11-year-old boy named Peter Lovell emerged winner. Since then, his design (Gunnersaurus) has officially been Arsenal's mascot.

Since being unveiled in 1994, he has entertained millions of people, taken part in open-bus parades and even attended Peter's (the designer's) wedding.
