An  offer for Kostas Manolos was rejected from Arsenal by AS Roma, the agent of the star has revealed.

Several years before joining Roma from Olympiacos in 2014, the defender has been a potential target for Arsene Wenger.

Manolas has grown to become one of the highly rated defenders in Europe and this has helped maintain the interest of the Arsenal manager.

The player's agent, John Evangelopoulos, has made it clear that a bid was forwarded but rejected from Arsenal in the summer.

“Over the summer Roma rejected an offer of €40m (£35m) from Arsenal. The Gunners were interested but Roma’s demands were too much for the English club.

“Probably a sale in June? I cannot say for sure, but probably there will be something this summer. But in general in the world of football, it is difficult to make predictions.”

I feel Arsenal used the funds to get someone else (Shkodran Mustafi), so it is not expected that they will go for Manolas who also plays in the same position anymore.
