Arsene Wenger who watched his side demolish Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday has commende the display of the youngsters in midfield.
The Arsenal boss took a costly gamble by resting Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and, Francis Coquelin ahead of the midweek game with Watford.
He instead fielded Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and two familiar teenagers, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine-Adelaide.
The trio excelled in their various roles. While Oxlade-Chamberlain played box-to-box and launched some killer passes, Maitland-Niles provided cover for the back four.
Reine-Adelaide was not left out as he looked to produce a creative spark in attack. Oh did you notice something? All three have compound names.
Commenting on the trio after the match, Wenger said: "They were the surprise of the day. I believe that they did very well."
