The rumour mill is not in any way relenting with the volume of reports being circulated in many tabloids. This is normal during transfer windows and one just has to cope with them.
There is a claim that Arsenal are set to once again miss out on one of their potential targets as a competitor looks more serious.
Last summer, there were strong indications that the Gunners had massive interest in signing Kostas Manolas from AS Roma.
In fact, his agent came out recently to tell us that a formal bid which was later rejected was made by Arsene Wenger.
Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny are ageing, thus the need to look for someone who will fill in for them when they eventually leave and this is why Arsenal are after Manolas.
They are however likely to lose their grip on the star if immediate action is not taken as sources in Italy have revealed that Internazionale have come in for him.
It was further stated that an agreement between the two parties is drawing near.
If these reports are anything to go by, then it will be a big blow if Arsenal let this opportunity slip off.
I am however baffled because I do not think Roma will be willing to sell out a top man of theirs to a rival in the same league.
