Samir Nasri who is currently out on loan at Sevilla from Manchester City says the massive criticism being directed at Arsene Wenger is unfair.

The former Arsenal midfielder in an interview stated that the players are the ones causing much of the woe, not the manager.

With Arsenal sitting ten points behind Chelsea and almost out of the Champions League after receiving a 5-1 hammering from Bayern Munich, several supporters and pundits have called for Wenger's resignation.

Just a few still have the belief that it isn't all the fault of the manager and one of such people is Nasri who controversially departed the club in 2011.

"You cannot criticise a guy like Wenger - It's impossible, Nasri told Sky Sports . "Arsenal were a big club but he made them even bigger.

"I think people need to be fair, it's not his fault that Arsenal are in the position they are, it's the players. It's the players on the pitch that get the results.

"There are a lot of things happening at Arsenal - the board, the players - they need to be checked, not just Arsene."
