Lothar Matthaus is on the same path with fans and football pundits who feel Mesut Ozil does not do enough to help the team in big games.

The German legend while writing in his column for the Sun criticized his compatriot for his weak mentality in derbies.

According to him, the 28-year-old has what it takes to turn games around but just chooses to be nonchalant instead.

“He is a guy who can make the difference — but in big games I just don’t see him as much as I’d like to see him.

"That is a problem for Arsenal … and a shame. He has all the quality to win games at the highest level but it doesn’t happen enough.”

Arsenal lost their strong title hold after losing consecutively to Everton and Manchester City back in December and Ozil's lacklustre displays in both was a subject of massive criticism.

Against Chelsea, he still didn't click as the Gunners suffered a 3-1 defeat in the hands of the league leaders.

Fans have since called on the manager to give him a break from the starting lineup beginning from tonight's game against bayern but we all know with Wenger, that certainly isn't going to happen.

Ozil will have to change his attitude and show his hunger if he is to win back his place in the hearts of the Arsenal faithfuls.
