The German international has in recent times come under fire for his disappearance in big games especially and it wasn't any different after Arsenal lost 2-0 to their bitter rivals on Sunday afternoon.
In that game against Tottenham, the 28-year-old who has only managed 11 goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances this season was not in his best and this sparked harsh reactions on Twitter.
Below are some tweets from Arsenal fans, rival supporters and neutrals.
