Ramsey Agent Clears Air on Contract Demand

Uncertainties surrounding the future of Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal still looms as the midfielder is yet to put pen to paper and commit his future to the club.

It is nothing strange to come by many opinions, views and speculations in situations like this which is why the usual claim of a high wage demand has surfaced in the news media of late.

The Wales international with just 12 months left on his current contract has still not cleared doubts about his possible move away from the club with interest from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and even Barcelona who reportedly wanted him as part exchange for the Ousmane Dembele deal.

The rumour mill earlier made us believe that the former Cardiff man who arrived the Emirates Stadium in the year 2008 has demanded a weekly pay in the region of £300,000 to enable him sign a new contract.

Contrary to the above, the agent of the 27-year-old has debunked the assertion saying there is no truth in that revelation. Avid Sports and Entertainment Group cleared the air when asked to comment on the topic on Twitter.

Arsenal are trying to see that they tie down Ramsey lest he becomes a free agent by the end of the fast approaching season. The club maintains high hopes that they will succeed in their quest despite failure in previous attempts.

Unai Emery's desperation to keep him at Arsenal is due to his resolution to build his team around the man who has so far made 327 appearances and recorded 58 goals for the Gunners.

The versatility of the potential club captain which was greatly exploited by former manager Arsene Wenger will be an advantage to the team now that a number of quality and needed recruitments have been made.

It remains to be seen how the whole saga plays out but I am confident Ramsey will pledge allegiance by signing a new contract at least before the end of the first half of the season.
