Arsenal Making Progress With Ramsey Contract Situation

Whether this is true or not, we cannot categorically say but this is at least what is in the news regarding the unsettled contract situation involving one of our players.

We have been made to know that Arsenal are drawing close to tying down Aaron Ramsey to a new deal following a lengthy negotiation period.

Football writer Charles Watts disclosed to Football London that insider sources fed him with the information that even though both parties have not struck a final agreement over a deal, there has been big progress so far.

“In terms of Ramsey, there is still no agreement,” he said. “But I did hear from someone I trust last week that things were moving in the right direction and that he thought a new deal was not far away – which is a positive. I think he will eventually sign.”

Ramsey is drawing close to the end of his contract and this has prompted Arsenal to offer him a new deal. Talks have been ongoing for a long period but it looks like there has still been no headway.

Tension rose when he was left out of the starting squad at Stamford Bridge and as usual, the press did not help matters as they quickly spread news that the Wales international was considering an exit from the club.

The air got cleared when the 27-year-old was placed back in the team and played 90 minutes in the last two Premier League games against West Han United and Cardiff City.

If we are to go by Watt's release, then we have high hopes that Rambo who scored against Ireland on international duty will remain at the Emirates stadium beyond the summer of 2019.
