It's what we have been waiting for and it's here at last. Mesut Ozil has opened up on the reported fracas between him and recently appointed manager Unai Emery.

News of a training ground bust-up between the German midfielder and the Spanish manager rented the entire media in recent weeks.

The speculation gained weight when Ozil was left out of the game against West ham United two weeks ago and even though 'illness' was cited as the reason for this exclusion, some still did not believe it but linked it with what was earlier disseminated.

The 29-year-old who retired from international football shortly after the conclusion of the 2018 World Cup tournament has now stated that he is happy at the club and has a healthy relationship with the boss contrary to widespread belief.

"I am very happy to play for Arsenal and especially for the new coach," Ozil told BBC Sport at full time. "He knows what he wants and the team accepts that, we have a good relationship."

Ozil was instrumental in Arsenal;s 2-1 win against Newcastle United. It was his 200th appearance which he marked with a goal which gave a lead extension following Granit Xhaka's opener from a thunderous free-kick.
