Hector Bellerin pulled out after the first half of Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The withdrawal of the Spanish international from the team in the Sunday afternoon fixture raised suspicion of an injury scare.
The guess of many was right after all. It has been confirmed that the right back could not play on because of a fitness issue that developed in the course of the game.
Speaking on the injury at his post match press conference, Unai Emery revealed that the muscular strain which forced him off could as well make him miss out of Arsenal's coming Premier League game against Liverpool.
The boss who was on the verge of winning a twelfth straight one today was unable to tell how serious it was though he hoped it would be something minor.
“Yes, he’s injured,” said Unai Emery. “I hope it’s not a big injury, but he had muscular pains.
“I don’t know [whether he’s a doubt for the Liverpool game next Saturday].”
I can say for sure that Bellerin will be out of our Carabao Cup match with Blackpool United this Wednesday. Just hoping he returns quickly for us.
