Arsenal on Saturday put Paul Merson to shame as they came from behind to pick a 1-1 draw against a Liverpool side that has not tasted defeat in the Premier League this term.

The Emirates Stadium duel involving two League title contenders witnessed the appearance of Bernd Leno in goal for Arsenal to the joy of many, the return of Sead Kolasinac to left back after a spell with the medical crew (the left-back missed games in recent weeks through a hamstring injury) and the surprise inclusion of Hector Bellerin who was a doubt for the game.

In the Matchweek 11 encounter, the visitors were the first to hit and that was in the 61st minute when Leno's clearance met James Milner who fired home a thunderous strike. That should had been their second for the evening but they were just unfortunate to had seen a well converted effort from Sadio Mane wrongly adjudged offside in the first period.

Arsenal's ruggedness and intensity paid off eight minutes from time. It was Alexandre Lacazette who finally got one to put us back into the game after previous attenpts failed. The Frenchman finished excellently having received the ball from substitute Alex Iwobi. There was nothing Reds goalkeeper Alisson could do to deny him. His goal in the first half was marred by the raised flag.

Both sides earned a point at the end from a game that was Arsenal's 14th unbeaten, and lest I forget, I have a questiom. Where does the third point go to after two teams have gotten one each from a draw match? Lol!

I will say that the result is not a bad one for us because we played against the team at the top of the league log. We showed character to clear the skepticism in the minds of some like Merson who were of the view that we were only doing well because we have not played against strong teams. He went as far as saying that he will be shocked if Jurgen Klopp's boys do not put at least three goals past our defence. It's good we were able to prove a point with that display.

I love the little time I spent watching in the first half. Yes, NEPA came with their usual unannounced blackout, so I was unable to get a full experience. Las las, my boys made me proud. Not a bad one for Unai Emery on his birthday. Yeah he has clocked 47 today. Happy Birthday to him.

We will be in action in the Europa League on Thursday night. Sporting Lisbon will be paying a visit to the Emirates and we pray to get a result like the one we recorded in Portugal two weeks ago.

Before you go, be aware that Arsenal have won more points from losing position than any other team in the English Premier League so far in the ongoing campaign and have scored more second half goals than any other side.
