Arsenal fans have begun to call for the head of Petr Cech after making a mistake that almost cost the team in Wednesday's match.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper returned to goal in yesterday night's Carabao Cup game against Blackpool having missed five games through injury.

Successive goals from Stephan Lichsteiner and Emile Smith Rowe put the scoreline at 2-0 moments before the visiting side got one through Paudie O’Connor who was later shown red.

It looked like the League One side had gotten an equaliser later on when Cech's costly mistake allowed them score a goal but thanks to the referee who rightly adjudged it 'invalid'.. Jay Spearing dispossessed Cech in the penalty area then passed it to Nathan Delfouneso who was clearly in an offside position, hence, the goal went void.

Supporters have as expected taken to social media networking site Twitter to air their disappointment in the veteran shot-stopper. While some feel it is about time to say "goodbye", others just want him demoted to second choice behind Bernd Leno. The latter demand isn't surprising considering Leno's nice form in Cech's absence.
