Denis Suarez to Finally Seal Arsenal Transfer After Long Wait

There is a widespread hullabaloo in the Spanish media as regards the transfer of Denis Suarez to Arsenal. It is all done according to sources in the country.

The Barcelona attacking midfielder has been the most widely talked about of all Arsenal transfer targets this month. However, no headway was made for a long time for reasons best known to the parties involved.

We have seen several reasons for the delay from different sources. Last week, Guillem Balague, a football analyst, said that the inability of the two clubs to come to terms is the cause of the long hold. He stated that the Gunners have refused to agree to make it a permanent deal at the end of his six-month loan spell. In simpler terms, Arsenal wanted a loan with no mandatory clause to sign Suarez permanently but Barca kicked against it.

Another claim had it that Barcelona asked Suarez to sign a new contract before any negotiations with Arsenal could be made but the 25-year-old who was not happy with the Spanish giants refused to do so. He was then told that his desire to play for Arsenal will remain unfulfilled if he does not heed to their demands.

Today (in line with the second claim), news broke out from Spain that Denis Suarez has finally signed a new deal till 2021 and now has the chance to resume talks for a move to Arsenal.

We have been made to believe that personal terms have been reached and Unai Emery will have to pay €2 million for the loan move after which he will have the option to sign him permanently for a €23 million fee at the end of the 2018/19 football season.

Suarez was also previously linked with Real Betis and Sevilla but if we are to go by latest reports then he will be an Arsenal player before the winter transfer window shuts on Thursday. He will no doubt be a great addition to the seemingly depleted and injury-laden squad at the Emirates.

The Salceda de Caselas-born Spain international has managed just six appearances (all as a substitute) for the Catalans this term, a clear indication that he is no longer a major part of their plans at the camp Nou, so an Arsenal transfer for Suarez will not be a bad one.
