Arsenal Board Reaction To BATE Loss Could Spell Doom for Unai Emery

Unai Emery

Unai Emery's stay at Arsenal could be threatened going by the reaction of key club figures after their most recent game.

The Gunners recorded a 1-0 loss when they visited Belarus to play BATE Borisov in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 fixture that held on Thursday night. They were unable to get anything out of the encounter despite having key players in the day's lineup and enjoying 77% of ball possession.

The defeat adds to Emery's already-poor form away from home since succeeding Arsene Wenger at the end of the 2017/18 season.

At the ground of the game were a host of important Arsenal personalities that included head of football Raul Sanllehi, managing director Vinai Venkatesham and chief contract negotiator Huss Fahmy who all looked settled prior to the commencement of the match.

The trio was not the same as they arrived, according to Football London who claim that their looks of hope had been replaced by those of disappointment.

We learnt that Fahmy could do nothing but shake his head in disbelief while Vekatesham stayed stranded in his chair. As for Sanllehi, he dashed off in shame as soon as the game ended.

Their respective reactions indicate that the delegation was not happy with the result which should be a source of worry for the struggling manager.

Arsenal will be off action this weekend as they are already out of the FA Cup, courtesy Manchester United. Next up for them will be the return leg of the BATE Borisov clash at the Emirates next Thursday.
