Arsenal ran riot at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night defeating Bournemouth in a game that was filled with goals contributed by both teams.
The Gunners got all three points by beating the Cherries 5-1, courtesy goals from Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Laurent Koscielny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and substitute Alexandre Lacazette.
Despite the win that ensured they maintained fourth spot, fans did not hesitate to dish out criticism to whoever deserved it.
They lashed out on one of their players for his seemingly dwindling commitment in recent times while heaping encomium on the likes of Ozil and Mkhitaryan for their massive impact in the encounter.
Auba was the one picked out for criticism this time around. Yes, he scored in that match, he is also the season's highest goal scorer for the club in all competitions, but his form has called for questions.
One of the supporters went to the length of calling for his sale. It does not look like that is going to happen soon.
Below are some tweets from aggrieved fans on Twitter:
Aubameyang has been dreadful, something off about him in the last couple of games, also can't keep giving away cheap goals at home especially when you're basically playing with 7 defensive players.— Emzel (@Emzyl23) February 27, 2019
Yes Aubameyang really has been bad last couple of games but some of you lot really didn’t watch him before he came to Arsenal and it shows by some of the stupid tweets I’m seeing 😂— SK (@SK45_) February 27, 2019
Need to sell aubameyang while we can still get decent money, reinvest in the squad— Caesar (@_EmanA1) February 27, 2019
Auba so far useless,,, getting good balls but finishing so bluntly— Mbuguah Wilshere (@MbuguahWilshere) February 27, 2019
Auba, Monreal, Torreira have been poor. Guendouzi 🤨 #afc— kbkoh (@kohkb) February 27, 2019
Aubameyang has been the worst player in the pitch so far.. ngl. Poor— Ⓐ Ⓡ Ⓢ Ⓔ Ⓝ Ⓐ Ⓛ ♛ (@Auba_Laca8) February 27, 2019
If I played the way Aubameyang played tonight I’d have been dragged at half time. He got bullied by ake, did absolutely nothing then gets a goal and comes off to a hero’s send off😅— Stefan Brown 🏴 (@StefanBrown4) February 27, 2019
Only fair but auba been poor again !! Come on— Jake griffett (@griffett_jake) February 27, 2019
Strange thing to say I know but I think Aubameyang looks lacking in enthusiasm and confidence right now . Strange because he has scored so many goals this season . Not getting in the right positions atm.— Dublin Gooner (@goonerhayden) February 27, 2019
Saturday is another chance for Arsenal to mount more pressure on those contending for Champion League qualification.
They will play at home against their arch-rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in what will be their third meeting since the campaign kicked off. If you are wondering why I said 'home' then maybe you do not know that Wembley is our home too. Lol!
