Matteo Guendouzi has reacted to news connecting him with a possible transfer to Paris Saint Germain in the near future.

The midfielder only recently signed for the Gunners from Lorient in the last two transfer windows when he came in as a squad player.

The club had the intention of nurturing him to become an asset for the future but his impressive form has earned him a regular spot in the first team - his 33 appearances in all competitions says it all.

As it is with any player making waves in Europe, Guendouzi has reportedly attracted interest from Italy as Paris Saint Germain are looking to bring him in as a successor for Adrien Rabiot who is on the verge of leaving the Parc des Princes as a free agent following his refusal to sign a new deal.

It is believed that Arsenal, in response to this, has placed a huge price tag of £60 million on the France U21 international.

Asked about the said interest from the Ligue 1 outfit, the 19-year-old Guendouzi responded by saying that it is not the first time he will be contacted by PSG. He however stated that he is happy with his career at the Emirates Stadium.

“It is true that PSG were very interested, like other teams, there were a lot of discussions, but for me the best decision I could make was to join Arsenal,” he told Canal Football Club.

“Once they positioned themselves, I didn’t hesitate, I orientated myself in that direction.

“I think when I was young I watched a lot of Arsenal, but the fact that there are a lot of French guys there played a big role.”

Arsenal will resume action in the Europa League this Thursday - the reverse fixture of the first leg of the round of 32 which they lost to BATE Borisov last week. Hopefully, Guendozi will be in contention for selection.
