Arsenal Fans Happy With Departed Star for Epic Throwback

cesc fabregas outside shot AC Milan 2008 Champions League

On March 4. 2008, Arsenal became the first English club to win at the San Siro as they secured a 2-0 victory over AC Milan.

The historic Champions League encounter witnessed two late goals - the first was the 84th-minute strike from 30 yards by Cesc Fabregas, followed by Emmanuel Adebayor's goal in injury time.

The result earned the Gunners a place in the quarter-finals where they crashed out on a 5-3 aggregate to Liverpool.

Even as the landmark did not take them past the last eight, the memory is one that will forever remain fresh in the hearts of fans and ex-players.

This above fact was validated by Fabregas on Monday when he took to Twitter to do a throwback after eleven years, thereby arousing a frenzy among fans.

The 31-year-old made an error by tweeting that it happened '10 years' ago. He noticed and quickly made the correction.

Arsenal supporters wasted no time in expressing how much love they still have for their former captain who left them for Barcelona in 2011.

They also did not fail to praise him for his outstanding display which made a big difference on the said night.

Since leaving for Barcelona years ago, Fabregas has signed for Chelsea and AS Monaco where he presently is.

News of his possible return to the Emirates Stadium sprung up at a time but it is unlikely that the Spanish international will resign for his former club.
