Latest Injury News Ahead of Rennes Clash

Latest arsenal injury news bellerin welbeck holding rennes

The Arsenal medical team has released an update on player fitness as we prepare to host Rennes at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still a doubt for the game because of a mild back strain. There will have to be a late assessment to ascertain if he will be fit in time to feature.

The Armenian is the only short term injury victim we have got at the moment with Rob Holding (left knee), Danny Welbeck (right ankle) and Hector Bellerin (left knee) all out of the season.

The trio is recovering well after undergoing surgery.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos will miss our Europa League last-16 second-leg tie not because he is injured but through suspension.

A second yellow card to him in our 3-1 loss in the reverse fixture in France last week makes him ineligible to play tomorrow.

Alexandre Lacazette would have been absent too but UEFA has reduced his ban from three to two games. He has been out of two games already so he will make the squad if Unai Emery wants him to.

Lucas Torreira will also be back in action having missed out of our 2-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

His straight red card against Spurs gave him a three-match ban - he still has two more league games to go
