Recall that at a point in the Arsenal game with Manchester United on Sunday - in the 52nd minute to be precise - Laurent Koscielny required medical attention.
At the time, it was not clear to spectators what the problem was but we were made to know at the end of the game that he suffered a serious injury.
The Arsenal captain had a 3-inch deep cut on his leg. Nevertheless, he still played on for the remaining part of the match.
Club officials say Koscielny played with a three-inch gash in his leg for the final part of the game, which got clamped together on the pitch when he was down for treatment.— Mattias Karén (@MattiasKaren) March 10, 2019
Koscielny once again proved that he plays for the name in front of the shirt which is why the one at the back of the kit he puts on will forever be remembered.
The 33-year-old despite battling injuries of late has been an important part of Unai Emery's side who are now fourth on the Premier League table following their 2-0 triumph over Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's team.
It is not surprising to see fans calling for a contract extension for their defensive maestro while also hoping that he remains available for them till the end of the season as they fight to return to the Champions League after a two-season absence from there.
