Unai Emery Reveals Arsenal Player Was Negative Ahead of United Squad

Unai Emery has revealed that one of his players was negative ahead of Arsenal's game with Manchester United later today.

The Gunners are on a quest for a top-four finish which means a loss will be a disastrous result for them, therefore, the boss has called for big positive energy in the squad.

After their surprising 3-1 loss to Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday night, the Spaniard called a meeting where he spoke with the team.

It was during this session that he observed that a member of the squad was so down and lacked positive vibes.

For that reason, the former Paris Saint Germain manager requested that they meet for a private talk the following day.

“I want the players to help me with big positive energy,” he said.

“One player was worse than me, more down than me, and I said to him: ‘Let’s speak tomorrow as you are more sad than me.’

“I want to listen to players with positive energy. I want to hear them say: ‘We can do it on Sunday.’

“Our target is to play in the Champions League and we know it is not easy.

“We have two possibilities even if we know it is going to be difficult. With this responsibility the players are optimists. We can come with positive spirit and do it. I want to find positive energy.”

Three points for Arsenal today will drive them past Manchester United who are currently in fourth position behind Tottenham Hotspur.
