Aubameyang States What He Misses Most at Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Mises Champions League Action

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed what he misses most at Arsenal - this is something every other fan misses too.

The Gabonese star since joining from Dortmund in the winter of 2018 has not featured in any Champions League game.

This is so because, in the last two seasons, the Gunners have failed to finish in the top-four region, meaning the Europa League has been their point of call.

A slot for next season's edition is also not certain yet. However, their 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday has put them in pole position for qualification.

Auba in an interview stated that they have missed being involved in Europe's biggest club-side football contest and hopes for a quick return there.

“We have to get into the Champions League for this to be a successful season,” he said.

“That’s the goal since the beginning of the season.

“Of course, we miss being there. When you see it on the TV and you hear the music it is something special.

“So yeah, we have to carry on and win games to be in the top four.”

The 29-year-old took a bold step by taking Arsenal's penalty on Sunday despite failing to convert in a similar scene during the North London derby less than two weeks ago.

On March 2, the club's highest goalscorer for the season so far lost the chance of earning his team all three points against Tottenham by losing a spot kick. Against United, he did better.

Aubameyang has scored 30 goals in 52 matches since his £56m transfer from the Bundesliga in January last year.

He currently sits third on the Premier League's highest goalscorers list -  tied on 17 goals with the second-placed Mohamed Salah and the fourth-placed Harry Kane.
