Arsenal may have found a new sporting director if news making the rounds in the media are anything to go by.
According to widespread belief, the Gunners will bring in a former midfielder in Edu to fill in the void sometimes around July as he has made an agreement in principle to resume duty before the commencement of the new season.
The North London club has been pushing hard to get a replacement for Sven Mislintat who left just after little over a year but Monchi who was favourite at that time made a U-turn to return to Spain with his former side, Sevilla.
Edu, a member of the Invincibles, won two Premier League and FA Cup titles at the Emirates Stadium. He currently works as a coordinator with the Brazillian FA and is expected to join Arsenal after the Copa America which ends on July 7.
However, should Brazil get knocked out before the end of the contest, then his arrival could come earlier than earlier stated.
Edu will no doubt fit in to the plans of managing director Vinai Venkatesham and football director Raul Sanllehi whose aim is to revive the image of the club under Unai Emery.
We hope this one goes through as we long for the old Arsenal in no time.
