Arsenal Submit Request for Real Marcos Llorente

According to reports in Spain, Arsenal have put forward an offer to snap up a Real Madrid midfielder by the time the summer transfer window opens.

As part of plans to restructure the team and make them serious title contenders once again, it is believed that the Gunners are eyeing a move for Marcos Llorente.

The 24-year old is said to no longer want to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and as such, he has taken the Premier League as a preferred destination amidst numerous interest from European giants.

His decision to move elsewhere isn't unconnected with the fact that he has managed to feature in just a few games all season. Fifteen appearances in all competitions is all he has to his name.

Llorente has a contract which expires in 2021 and we have been made to understand that Madrid will be willing to let him go on the condition that a buy-back clause will be included in the deal.

Such a condition could be a stumbling block for the Gunners in their quest to get players who will be with them on the long run.

The marvelous passing skills possessed by the Spaniard will be a big advantage for Arsenal but whether they will get him so easy is the problem right now.

The competition is so high with Manchester United, Sevilla, Roma, Atletico Madrid, among others, said to be monitoring the progress and availability of the highly talented boy.

This report could well be false since Llorente is a defensive midfielder. What they need in that area is an attacking midfielder, more preferably a box-to-box one who will stand as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

Whichever ways, we will wait and see how things play out, for it is too early to start making assumptions on player recruitment when the season has not even been completed.
