It is understood by L'Equipe that Arsenal have agreed a five-year contract with a defender as they look to bring him over to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Saint-Etienne permitted the Gunners to hold talks with William Saliba and now that it appears that they have come to terms, the two clubs will now have to strike an agreement.
Once the deal is sealed, the French outfit want the player to remain with them till the end of the coming season.
It would be a case of Arsenal signing him and letting him stay on loan with the Ligue 1 side. This will make him help them out while developing into a better defender for the North London club.
At 18, Saliba isn't close to what Arsenal need to cure their defensive woes. At the club are youngsters in same position who have not still got the opportunity to become first team regulars, so this move shouldn't be our major concern for now.
