Reputable journalist of the British Broadcasting Corporation, David Ornstein, has confirmed that Arsenal have made a bid for Celtic left-back though the offer was turned down as a result of the figure involved.
It was widely reported by Scottish sources over the weekend that a move for Kieran Tierney by the Gunners was rejected and the journalist has validated that claim of an initial £15 million bid.
He however stated that there are still high hopes as Celtic are willing to consider a reasonable offer. Agreeing personal terms with the player would be the least obstacle on their path.
Arsenal are now expected to step up their game as the Daily Report says they will return with a second offer in the region of £20 million in the best two days even though Celtic are demanding a bit more than that.
The pursuit of Carl Jenkinson by Celtic could also help in making dealings go smooth especially if Arsenal will capitalise on that and free the Englishman.
The addition of Tierney to Unai Emery's team will be a step in the right direction. He is what the club have been looking for to improve their backline in years.
