Arsenal in Search of Another CB as William Saliba Draws Close - Ornstein

According to David Ornstein who is one to reckon with when it comes to transfer matters, Arsenal are still on the lookout for another centre-back despite having come close to getting William Saliba.

It was earlier reported that Saint-Etienne and the Gunners have come to terms over the 18-year-old defender. If those claims are true, then he will return to his sellers on a season-lomg loan deal once the North London club sign him.

Saliba is one of the best youngsters in his position and a spell with the Ligue 1 side will help in making him ready for the big stage.

Arsenal will pay around £27 million over at least a one-year period, so it will have no effect on their meagre budget for business in the summer transfer window.

After confirming the imminent switch of Saliba, the BBC journalist revealed that Unai Emery still aims at bringing in another centre-back, one who will go straight into the first team.

This at least will calm down supporters that have wondered why Arsenal would want to loan out Saliba when they've got big issues at the back.

The Kieran Tierney to Arsenal move is still on the books and could be announced anytime soon.
