Arsenal Promote Three Players to First Team

Willock promotion

Arsenal have finally heard the cries of their loving fans by promoting three players from the youth ranks to the first team ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Jeorge Bird who is a resident Arsenal youth expert revealed that Joe Willock has been rewarded with an elevation into the senior side with his jersey number changed to 28 from 59.

The youngster won the hearts of supporters with his classy displays which included a substitute appearance in our Europa League final loss to Chelsea in Baku.

He was able to score three times in six first team appearances last season and it is little wonder that he has been training with the big boys since preseason training resumed last week.

Willock will hope to find his way into the squad with as Aaron Ramsey's slot is now vacant. His piercing runs will be a great asset for Unai Emery to exploit from August.

The squad number handed to the England U20 international was at a time used by Lucaz Perez, Kieran Gibbs, Joel Campbell and Kolo Toure.

Reiss Nelson is another guy who has been promoted. The winger was on loan with Hoffenheim in Germany last term but is likely to become a regular in the coming campaign. He will wear the number 24 shirt.

We have also been made to understand that Eddie Nketiah also benefited from the reshuffling.

At least, these chaps can help fill in as it looks like we will not be spending much on new arrivals in the ongoing transfer window.
