The last one week has seen news of Arsenal's interest in Wilfried Zaha fly around and now a reputable outlet has given hopes to supporters
The Ivory Coast international has sounded his desire to leave for another club against the wish of Crystal Palace who do not want to lose him after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United.
It was said that Zaha had an £80 million price tag and to further discourage any suitors, the Selhurst Park outfit upped the fee to £100 million.
Despite the scare, the Gunners have officially declared their intention to add the forward to their ranks by making a bid of £40 million.
The offer was was tabled today, according to Sky Sports. It is just half of the initial price placed on Zaha and it remains to be seen how the receiving party will react.
To be frank, Palace's request is a highly ridiculous one which no reasonable club will pay. I believe they don't mean it though.
The next couple of days will reveal what is next. Will they request an improved bid or accept this? Zaha's push to quit could be an added advantage for Arsenal.
