Arsenal Target Leaves for the United Kingdom

As Arsenal look forward to sealing a transfer for Kieran Tierney, he has made a departure from the club’s training camp to cause a stir among anxious fans.

The versatile defender has been on the Gunners’ radar for a while now and moves have been made by them in their quest to acquire his services.

At first, a £15 million bid which was the opening one was intercepted by Celtic then another in the region of £17.5 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons was also rejected last week, according to Football Scotland.

Arsenal’s desperation to snap up Tierney has made them return with a £20 million offer that includes £5 million in add-ons which is now being considered by the hierarchy at the Scottish Premier League Champions. The North London side are also said to be willing to add Carl Jenkinson in the deal.

Tierney left the rest of his teammates in training in Austria to travel down to the United Kingdom. This fuelled speculations that he made that trip so as to seal a deal with Arsenal.

The claim has however been debunked by his manager Neil Lennon and an ex BBC pundit Tam  McManus.

They stated that the 22-year-old had to leave for Scotland so as to continue his rehabilitation programme after undergoing surgery for hernia.

“Kieran Tierney has flown home to use the Lennoxtown gym,” he tweeted. “All he was doing was cycling in Austria and his rehab needs more than that, so he has flown home to work on his rehab/recovery in better facilities at Celtic.

“He has not been rushed home to sign for Arsenal or anyone else.”

This revelation is making it look like the whole links with Arsenal will end up in nothing but we never can tell. It could be a smokescreen after all.

It could still be true that he went for rehab and that dos not still mean that something can’t still happen before the window shuts.
