Transfer News: Arsenal Axe Three in 48 Hours

Arsenal are still on the mission to clear out some deadwood and players who are surplus to requirement. Three departures have been recorded in the last 48 hours.

I am sure there are some who were stunned not to see Nacho Monreal in the North London derby lineup. This is because he is no longer with us.

The left back was snapped up by Real Sociedad over the weekend to put his close to seven years reign at Arsenal to an end. The deal is a permanent one.

Appearances: 251
Goals: 10
FA Cups: 3
Community Shields: 3

Still on Saturday, a loan move for Mohamed Elneny to Turkish Super League side Besiktas was completed. The Egyptian is there on a one-year deal. I do not see him returning to Arsenal though.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan may have played his last game in an Arsenal shirt as he has joined AS Roma on loan. The Italian side will pay a loan fee as well as a greater part of his £180 000/week wages.

The deal includes an option to buy him at the end of the season-long loan.

Nice move for the player as he will have more playtime. It is also an advantage to youngsters like Martinelli, Nelson and Saka.

We wish them all the beat at their new clubs and appreciate the roles they played to keep the club going.
