Arsenal Kick Start Europa League Campaign on a Good Note

Thursday night saw Arsenal return to winning ways as we took on Rapid Vienna in our opening fixture of the season's UEFA Europa League.

The Gunners were on the verge of heading the same direction as when we visited the Etihad Stadium but unlike in that game against Manchester City over the weekend, we were able to come from behind to seal a win.

The inclusion of our newest signing Thomas Partey erupted high expectations as that would be his first full debut since arriving having just played for less than ten minutes when we locked horns with Pep Guardiola's side.

It took the Ghanaian international no time to begin stamping his identity on the field of play through his accurate passing and strength that were highly impressive on display.

One of his good works which headed to Alexandre Lacazette was close to earning us a goal through Bukayo Saka. On the defensive, Partey was also doing so well. A well-timed tackle of his helped to avert a threat at the edge of the box.

There were no much activities in terms of chances created in the first half but close to the end of it, we were nearly hit. Good enough, ERcan Kara's shot could only find its way across the face of goal.

Within the twinkle of an eye in the second half, the hosts Fountas and Dejan Ljubicic lost chances before the former was able to capitalise on a passing error at the back to send his team forward.

It would not be nice for us to lose two games in succession, a fact we knew, and our persistence gave us an equaliser which was given to us by Davis Luiz who headed home from a Nicloas Pepe freekick. This came twenty minutes to the end of regular time.

Arsenal nearly go punished by Vienna we a mix-up occurred between our goalkeeper and Luiz but Fountas did not utilize it well.

For the winning goal, Mo Elneny and Hector Bellerin combined well to pick out Pierre_Emerick Aubameyang. He scored and we won our first group stage match of the Europa League

Leicester City will be away to us as we resume Premier League action on Sunday evening. Our last encounter ended in a draw.
