Dangote Arsenal Takeover Talks to Begin This Year?

The intention of Aliko Dangote to takeover as owner of Arsenal Football Club has never been hidden as the African Richest Man has at one point or the other reiterated his interest in the club.

Apart from being a businessman, Dangote, like every other Gunner is more concerned about the progress of the club. We will agree that for so long, our dear club has been a shadow of itself and we have all been hoping that a more capable hand who feels the pains of the fans will handle affairs someday.

This could be coming to accomplishment in the near future going by the repeated admissions of the Nigerian mogul in the past few years.

In June 2015, September 2016, August 2017 and January 2020 his statements gives credence to the fact that he has in his books the plan to grab shares belonging to Stan Kroenke, the man that many Arsenal fans see as someone just all about the money.

However, one thing he kept making clear was that he will only initiate his mission once he is done with the major projects on ground, the most mega being his oil refinery in Lagos.

The plant is expected to be fully set for operations in the first half of 2021 and it is until then he can decide to resume talks for a possible ownership of the sinking North London side. The end of the year's first half coincides with the period the season comes to an end, a period when clubs look to restrategise for the new season and I will say that this would be a perfect time for Aliko to swing into action.

Dangote according to the Forbes Rich List is the 206th richest man in the world with a net worth of $11.8billion meaning the money would not stand as a barrier in his quest to buy up Arsenal shares.

If successful with this move, the businessman will not only succeed in igniting the faith in fans around the world but also widen the already large Gunners' fanbase in Nigeria as well as on the black continent as a whole.
