Gunners Begin Olympiacos Revenge Mission In Superb Manner

Tonight was a very remarkable one for Arsenal who continued the season's Europa League campaign in grand style. It was the first leg of the last-16 and it ended in a healthy state.

The encounter that the club's Twitter media team joked about as another home tie was actually an away game but then we got the message they were trying to pass.

In case you did not know, we played our home game of the previous round on their ground as a result of COVID restrictions. The outcome of the match today even makes it look like we played at home. Lol!

We were facing the same side that knocked us out of the competition last season. Little wonder we put in our strength from the very first minutes where Kieran Tierney had his pass to Odegaard blow off.

It was not long after that that we saw another chance. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did well to connect to Hector Bellerin's cross fro the right but his header was put on safety by Jose Sa.

After so much hard work especially from our fullbacks, we made a breakthrough and it was also a milestone for one of our players. Bellerin found Odegaard who from 25 yards out smashed a hard one which went up into the net to give us the lead. It was his first goal since joining Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid.

Youssef El-Arabistole capitalised on Ceballos' error to curl in one for his side moments from the beginning of the second period. The Moroccan was at it again when he whipped a shot right inside the box but had it deflected out.

Arsenal went ahead at a time when to looked as if the match was going to end in a tie. It was Gabriel who headed home our second of the night.

Elneny wrapped it all up with a third and we will now go into the second leg with a healthy advantage. Our revenge started well and we hope we build on this at the Emirates Stadiium to avoid a setback like that of last season next Thursday.

Before that day, we will welcome Tottenham Hotspur for the North-london derby on Sunday evening. It will be a massive one.
