Forward Confirms He Will Be at Arsenal Next Season.

Walcott to Hold Contract Talks

It's May 27, Children's Day worldwide so we at Arsenal Newspaper will like to seize this opportunity to wish all kids a happy celebration of their day. On to the news.

Theo Walcott is now in a position to decide whether he will remain at Arsenal or look elsewhere to continue his career. His contract expires next year and this has warranted the club to open talks over a renewal.

Arsene Wenger earlier revealed to us that negotiations were ongoing with the player and his agent and said he is confident the English international will readily put pen to paper. The manager's belief is not false if we are to go by what Walcott said during a recent interview.

The 26-year-old is happy with his side's improvement as they now challenge their rivals in big games and this is why he wants to stay on at the Emirates. He strongly believes in the squad which have so far shown that they can compete on the big front if little additions are made.

Walcott said, “You need to be ready when giving the opportunity. I’ve been out for a year, but I feel great. I’ve got to thank the manager for having faith in me.

“I think it’s been an up and down campaign. We’ve had a great run. It came to an end a few weeks ago. We’ve finished third, and if we win the FA Cup next week, that’s a good season.

“But I think that next season, we need to be challenging for the title, with the team we’ve got.”

Walcott will hope to get a start in the Arsenal side that will play Aston Villa in the FA Cup final this Saturday after grabbing a treble against West Brom last Sunday.
